House of Hope recently announced its new environmental education program, “Throwing Seeds.”
In the “Throwing Seeds” greenspace, which is located a short walk from the school, students will plant and care for gardens of vegetables and fruit. Back in the classroom, they will discuss the plants they saw: ecological life cycles, recipes for healthy eating, and observations of nature. Teachers will also lead students in therapeutic outdoor activities designed to reduce stress, increase self-esteem and deepen their awareness of themselves.
In the past month, the House of Hope team has made great progress in creating the Throwing Seeds classroom space. Check out their progress below!
