Supporting Hope is committed to safe & secure handling of any data collected during your visit.
We collect and use information in a couple of ways:
1. Anonymous traffic data: we use Google Analytics to collect visitor data and analyze traffic on our site. This information helps us understand what type of content you’re most interested in so that we can improve our site. In order to collect data, a short text file called a “cookie” is downloaded to your computer when you visit our site. The cookie is used to store small amounts of information, which we use for traffic analysis only, and it does not collect any personal details about you. Depending on the browser that you use, you can set your preferences to block cookies or notify you before they are placed. You may also opt-out of Google Analytics tracking by following this link to Google’s Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
2. Name and email address provided by you: if you would like to contact us with questions or if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we will ask you to provide your name and email address. This information is stored in a secure database, and we will use it to respond to your questions and/or send you occasional communications about House of Hope. At any time, you may choose to update your preferences or unsubscribe from our communications using the links provided at the bottom of our emails.
3. Financial information provided by you: if you would like to make a donation to Supporting Hope via our website, we will ask for payment information, which is handled by a secure third-party payment processor (Stripe is our processor). We will store the transaction amount so that we can provide you with a receipt for your donation(s), but we do not see or store your payment information in our database.
With the exception of payment details necessary for processing a donation, we do not share your data with third parties. While we follow best practices for secure handling of information, we cannot guarantee that every data transmission is 100% secure. If you feel that the security of your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
